Who’s Next Competition Finalists

Asheville, NC — Congratulations to the team consisting of  architect Lindsey Rhoden, intern Peyton Shumate, both from Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee’s Asheville studio, and Thad Rhoden for being selected as a Finalist in the Who’s Next Design Competition sponsored by FreeGreen.com. Their entry, [Re]Nest House, was awarded a Top 12 ranking from a field of over 400 entries.

Their [Re]Nest House entry sets the tone for the home as a warm and relaxing sanctuary with two outdoor decks and a zen garden. The design focuses on creating an innovative, sustainable and affordable 1800 square foot single family home for an older couple looking for a stylish and functional new home.

Lindsey Rhoden, AIA, said,  “We entered the Free Green Competition because we were drawn to the program, scale, challenge and also the creative freedom that most typical projects are without. Despite our awareness of the online public viewing, I don’t think the three of us really understood the potential and opportunity to market our design. We are delighted to have interest in building our home from new contacts in Texas, Oregon and also our home state, North Carolina! The competition has been rewarding in two ways; making the Top 12 but also having our design viewed by the general public which could result with a built home.”
