Building D at Wake Tech’s new Northern Wake Campus has been selected from more than 2,500 projects as a Green Building of America Award-winning project by Real Estate & Construction Review-Southwest. The building will be featured in a special “Green Success Stories” edition of the publication.

Building D is a 75,000 square foot sustainable facility that includes classrooms, offices and a coffee shop. The building will open in June and is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver certification or higher from the U.S. Green Building Council. Building D features an automatic light dimming system that adjusts the lighting level relative to the amount of natural daylight which enters the window. The Northern Wake Campus is the first LEED rated multi-building community college campus in the nation.

Real Estate & Construction Review is an annual publication that serves as a reference to architects, contractors, governments and economic development groups. The publication can be viewed online at http://www.constructionreviews.com.
