Douglas Brinkley Elected Chair of USGBC NC Triangle Chapter

Douglas Brinkley, AIA, LEED AP is a principal at Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee in Raleigh and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from N.C. State University. In 2003, he was a co-founder of North Carolina’s first US Green Building Council Chapter (USGBC) and in January 2009 was elected by its board as the Chair. As the Chapter’s Chair, he will strive to serve as a visible catalyst for change in North Carolina for green building practices, technologies, policies, and standards. Strategic plan goals for 2009 include increasing diversity in membership and the communities that the Chapter engages, developing a state wide advocacy effort in association with the Charlotte and Piedmont Triad Chapters and becoming the go to resource for green and sustainability issues in the built environment.

Brinkley also serves on the Wake County Citizens Energy Advisory Commission, the Wake County United Arts Grants Panel and has been a co-chair for the NC State University College of Design’s Urban Design Conference since 2006. In 2007, Brinkley as honored as a recipient of the NC State University College of Design Wings on Wings Award.
